Did someone say beer

When someone mentions beer, we instinctively think about that golden glow, the beads of cold sweat running down the glass and we can virtually taste our favourite beer as after all it isn’t just about taste it’s a visual thing also. However, pulling a beer bottle from the fridge we are left visually disappointed, but the image we have created sticks in our mind.

This is where commercial photography has influenced us with tantalizing images of those cold refreshing beers. I’m sure we have all seen a beer Image from certain branded beers and been impressed with just how refreshing those images look.

When it comes to Shooting a subject that has so many reflective surfaces it can be a bit daunting to start with, but if you approach it the same way you would a portrait shot, all the elements of the lighting will easily fall into place. What you want to create are Subtle highlights and gentle reflections and refractions of light as these are the key elements that makes a bland bottle into a stunning delicious image, and this is where the Interfit Badger unleashed really packs a powerful punch.

The Interfit Badger Unleashed 250W HSS/TTL twin head kit combined with a strip box soft box, 7” reflector with a grid or a beauty dish, and a little help from some colour card makes showcasing those delicious beverages simple, and uses up very little studio space. So images can easily be created in a small home studio with ease. This is when the battery flash heads are really important also, as shooting in a small space with cables just waiting to trip you up, can turn a great shoot into a complicated game of twister as you try not move any elements of the set up. So, with up to 450 full powered flashes per head there is enough wireless flashes to get you through a shoot with ease.

The Interfit badger unleashed have a built in wireless receiver so the TTL remote is an essential part of this kit as you don’t have to guess the power output as you shoot its right there at your fingertips and you can easily adjust the settings with 9 stops control over the 250w range. This means that you don’t have to go back and forth during your shoot making micro adjustments to the power outputs.

Once you have captured those images the Kit packs away nicely in the carry bag with plenty of room for both Interfit badger Unleashed heads and batteries but also your camera equipment and tripod. Which is great especially when you require to use the kit on a location shoot.

Over the next couple of months I will be creating a series of simple behind the scene images for you to easily follow and create your own portfolio images. It doesn’t have to be Beer or whisky (whiskey depending where you’re from.) but soft drinks can be shoot with the same approach.
